The VelocityOne Flight System (Yoke, Base and Throttle Quadrant). The VelocityOne Flight comes in a nice packaging. #Turtle beach velocity one flight control system PcSince November 2021 the VelocityOne Flight is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC and marks the first Flightsim Yoke to be released on Console. If you know of any other places online / forums that are debating similar topics, please let me know.It was a bit of a suprise when Turle Beach, best known for their Gaming Headsets, announced a Flight Yoke and Throttle at E3 2020. We’re doing everything we can to get the units shipped despite global supply chain issues and the holiday season’s busy delivery service, thanks for your patience and please continue giving us the important feedback. If anyone’s having trouble with their order or product, please head over to Customer Support in the first instance. #Turtle beach velocity one flight control system softwareThat’s in addition to the software updates we’re continuously bringing out, the next of which will activate the SIP and some other features for PC, planned for Jan/Feb. The VelocityOne system is designed to be modular too, so the wait for extra features isn’t likely to be years, for those that want them. The design team are busy working on new peripherals as we speak and I can see some features mentioned here and in other forums which we’ve built into the new specs already (without going into too much detail!) Great to hear everyone’s opinions, the feedback in this thread is very valuable as it allows me to feed back to the dev team for future TB products. So if money snd space isn’t an issue I would take the Honeycomb. But of course there will always be something better (and more expensive). So if you prefer to keep some pocket change with the Velocity I think you have a very good product for a very good price. The two honeycombs together are significantly more expensive. Everything not quite on par with the Honeycombs but with the additional vernier TPM and the compact size it’s a very good deal. My impression now from all the reviews I’ve seen so far is, the Velocity yoke is far superior to the Saitek, the throttles about equal, maybe a tad better while you can have the Saitek throttles with six axes instead of four. That wouldn’t make sense unless the Honeycomb were severely overpriced. From the pics and reviews I’d seen, I never expected the Velocity to be equal to the Honeycomb. Well as someone who has thought about what to buy to replace the oldSaitek yoke when the Velocity was announced, (and now uses the Honeycomb Yoke with two old Logitech throttles), I may be able to give a little insight. With the Velocity One, there are analog triggers on each side of the yoke that are for rudder control, and I really wanted this feature. The big negative on the Honeycomb for me is there is no way to control rudder without separate pedals or turning on rudder assist, neither of which I want. #Turtle beach velocity one flight control system fullThe full Honeycomb will set you back a couple hundred more than the Velocity One. I also notice that the lever caps on the Honeycomb allow a bit more functionality, like tradition thrust reverser toggles that you see on Boeing jets. Those are supposed to come in a later firmware update. The status panel is not yet active and the flight detents on the quadrant are not yet active. I’d like a second one for flaps.Īlso, note that there are still a few functions not yet released on the Velocity One. The one included cap is more in the style of the spoiler lever, so I use it there when flying a jet profile. One very minor complaint, I wish they would have included a “flaps” style lever cap for the quadrant. I’ve been setting up multiple controller profiles to suit the various types of aircraft, so be prepared to do that whichever way you go. It’s nice to have those when flying the C152/C172. The main thing that pushed me to the Velocity One is the addition of the push/pull Vernier controls. I do wish there was a bit more resistance on the throttle levers like he mentioned, but they do stay where you put them despite being so easy to move. I agree with much of Sim Hanger’s review with the exception of the “sticky pitch axis” he had on his review model. This means I’ll fly the A320 with a yoke which is not real, but I’ll pretend it’s a B737 instead With this new yoke system, I’ll probably only break out my HOTAS when I fly the F-18. I fly all of the various planes in the sim. I had been exclusively flying with the Thrustmaster TM.16000 HOTAS setup but I wanted something with a throttle quadrant to add to the realism. #Turtle beach velocity one flight control system how toI’m enjoying it so far, but still learning how to use a yoke properly. I’m pretty sure he did the Honeycomb as well.įor me, I just recently purchased the Velocity One for use on a PC. You might want to check out the Sim Hanger YouTube channel as he recently did a couple reviews on the Velocity One, including one dedicated to XBox. I’m not sure how many people you will find with extensive time on both platforms, unless they’re a reviewer.
